"Carrie was on top of everything and kept us on schedule for group pictures, carousel pictures, bouquet toss, cake cut. Everywhere we needed to be, she made sure we were informed ahead of time and were there when we needed to be, all while capturing amazing memories along the way. She made us feel comfortable and was never once in the way or demanding."
What is your photography style?
My own style is very classic and elegant. I love to capture emotion and provide a photojournalism approach for weddings as well.
Will you be my actual photographer on the day of the wedding?
Yes! I am the main shooter on all of the weddings that I book. Some companies have a team of photographers and you won't know who will photograph the wedding until the big day. This can be a little scary if you have not seen their own portfolio and had a chance to sit down with them to get to know them better.
How long have you been photographing?
I bought my first film SLR camera over 15yrs ago.
Do you bring your own lighting?
Yes! I do bring off camera lighting with me for all my weddings. I also bring it with me for my senior sessions and some family sessions. Off camera flash is so important for weddings. The lighting is always changing and you have to be prepared for any situation.
Do you have backup equipment?
Yes! I have double of everything in the event something was to happen.
Are you insured?
Yes! I have liability insurance and my equipment is also fully insured. It is common for the venues to require photographers to carry liability insurance.
Do you backup your images?
Yes! My camera has two memory card slots, so while I am photographing your special day I am backing them up on a separate card. When I get home from your wedding I back those up on my computer at home and on a separate off site storage device. Keeping your images safe is extremely important to me.
How many images can I expect from my wedding?
Typically I like to say 50-75 images per hour.
Do I need a second shooter for my wedding?
That depends on you. A second shooter gives a different angle, while I am photographing the bride walking down the aisle, the second shooter is getting the grooms reaction. It makes the day go a little smoother since my second shooter is a clone of me. We can be at two places at once so it helps with the timeline of your day.
See what one bride said about having a second shooter: "I requested to bring in a second photographer about a month before and I am so glad I did. Colleen was a critical part in our day - she captured so many candid moments and we were able to photograph the brides team and grooms team at the same time to help stick to our timeline. It was really the best decision we made in bringing her on as well. They are both such a great team and produce an amazing product, I highly recommend them for any of your photography needs!"
Should we do an engagement session?
My answer will always be yes. It is a great way for me to get to know you both. During that time I can see how you photograph together, which poses you like, and its just fun!
